Call to Worship –
L: We are caught up in the trials and tribulations of our everyday lives.
P: The world seems to swirl around us, as a whirlpool, pulling us downward.
L: Bad news blasts us from every direction.
P: We need God’s healing touch right now.
L: Help us to believe in your healing love, O Lord.
P: Help us to focus our lives on your redeeming presence.
L: Enable us to reach out to each other and to our community.
P: Give us the strength, determination, and commitment to speak your word of peace.
L: And the people who seek the Lord shout:
ALL: AMEN!
Opening Prayer (Unison): Lord, we come to you this day with so many things going on in our lives. Some of these things are wonderful and cause us to rejoice. However, there are far too many things that cause us fear and anxiety. Humbly we wait for your presence with us. We need your healing touch. Feed us with the bread of life, that we may hunger no more. Strengthen us to do your will, for it is in Jesus’ Name, we pray. AMEN.
Prayer of Confession – Almighty and most merciful God, you know the thoughts of our hearts. We confess that we have sinned against you and done evil in your sight. We have transgressed your holy laws. We have disregarded your Word and Sacraments. Forgive us, O Lord. Give us grace and power to put away all hurtful things, that, being delivered from the bondage of sin, we may bring forth fruit worthy of repentance, and from henceforth may ever walk in your holy ways; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
